August’s Feast & Fest Celebrations in Santorini

Celebrations begin on August 15th with the festival for the Assumption of Virgin Mary and the Kamari Sea Feast, a 4 day festival with beach concerts, a traditional bazaar at Panagia Episkopi and a Greek fava feast at the picturesque village of Mesa Gonia.

Still in progress the Gyzi Festival, held at Megaro Gyzi continues to amaze guests with a series of cultural events including concerts, dances, exhibitions and recitals until the 23rd of August.

On August 19th prepare for the celebration of light at Ifesteia Festival where various cultural events will take place against the illuminated backdrop of Pyrgos, floodlit by thousands of fireworks.

Then a Musical Journey begins on August 22nd and 23rd with traditional Cretan music by 20 authentic voices that will bring to life melodies from the past at Pyrgos village and Ira town.

And speaking of Crete no celebration can be right without a drink of Raki, so attend the Raki Festival on August 31st at Koulombos and salute the end of the summer.
